The spontangames project was founded in summer 2006.
Its an international Quake4 community fun site which aims to provide the community with the latest news and events as well as our own activities.
We regularly organise tournaments for Duels, TDM and CTF Matches and we have a Pickup Gather System for Clan Arena, TDM and CTF (Capture The Flag)
Since Open Beta of ID’s new project called “Quakelive” we integrated this game to our community aswell.
As before the website found the way online, we were already active in playing Quake 4 CTF and TDM in the already popular cult channels #spontanq4tdm and #spontanq4ctf.
We decided to make an own community channel for this website called #spontangames and later #spontan.games.
Some time later spontanq4tdm becomes less activity and we also had problems with the channel and bot owner of sponanq4ctf (very rare present) and we decided to move all games to our community channel #spontan.games and started there with an 3rd party pickupbot (echbot).
Many many months later the spontanq4ctf chan was become as a ghost chan, only the pickup bot was alive, we often tried to recover this channel because we recognised that the channel even still is and was the most popular channel in the past and today.
But then came the day (July 2009) we got it and the channel was our and we moved back with our own pickup bot, script self written in tcl. At this time CTF was the only active gametype and our decision was to be dead on to move back. Until today we are present there and playing nice CTF games each day.
